New £150 million Mullin motor museum proposed for Cotswold
Discussion
Just got my May Octane 179 through the post this morning and I am beyond excited. Peter Mullins Chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles has submitted a planning application to build a £150 million state of the art museum over 160 acres. 60,000sq foot of displays over 4 floors and 50,000 sq ft of storage. Outside there will be tracks for experience rides and workshops where apprenticeships and scholarships will be available.
They are also planning to showcase the future of motoring with VR from Pixar and Microsoft.
Apparently Star Trek Patrick Stewart (never heard of him either..joke) has already started the NIMBY nonsense but I think he can just p### off to Hollywood.
What do you all think, I think it sounds ace and they reckon it could be open 2020!!
PS 2MC they are building 28 Holiday lodges that will be preferentially sold to those loaning cars for display so you could maybe do some good stuff with one of those.

Knackered old brownfield site currently used by restricted track day company with few jobs or state of the art visitor attraction bringing in millions in revenue to the local area. I agree it’s a tough sell to the millionaires living locally but let’s hope the general public back this and the creation of jobs for them not the elite.
I also understand the proposal is for 0930 to 1630 opening and ticketed time slots to reduce traffic impact. There also appears to be an emphasis on education offering affordable entry fees, reduced entry fee for locals and free entry to school groups.
Fingers crossed

It's going to be just 20 mins up the road from me (if it gets built) near the Chipping Norton set (Clarkson, Cameron ground and like of Sir P Stewart).
Good!
