Screwing a speaker to the wall
Discussion
I wish to wall mount some speakers, but I don't want a great big clamp / frame / shelf thing hanging off the wall. What damage am I really going to be doing to the speaker and sound reproduction if I just bang a couple of short, thick self-tappers into the speaker cabinet?
I'm thinking something like this (yes I know it says that they're for 'single threaded insert fittings' whatever they are, but I'm thinking screw it!)
'Universal Speaker Mount'
As opposed to this
'Wall Bracket Mount'
So, is making a couple of (sealed by the screw) holes in the speaker cabs going to ruin the sound quality of a decent set of bookshelf speakers?

I've just got some SVS Prime Satalites and SVS do some really good mounting options.
I got these https://www.rapalloav.co.nz/svs-wall-ceiling-brack... and their Prime Elevations have some nice mounting options. Although not much help as you already have speakers lol.

They look good Tony – but 7.7 lbs? 3.5kg? Doesn't seem like much. The speakers I'm thinking of hanging are around 5kg.
I appreciate the issue of pulling the back panel out – if I can get a discreet enough bracket, I don't mind screwing into the side of the cabinet as it is going in a corner...
Actually – is there any reason not to use a bit of no more nails or Gorilla Glue to attach the speaker to its bracket? Once they're up, I don't imagine I will be taking them down for a good few years...

Depends on your wall, the glue might hold the cabinet to the lining paper. but how long the plaster lasts with constant vibration is anyones guess lolI appreciate the issue of pulling the back panel out – if I can get a discreet enough bracket, I don't mind screwing into the side of the cabinet as it is going in a corner...

What sort of wall have you got?
The fixings you originally linked too look like they only have two screw fixings into the wall.
Your 5kg speakers hanging off a bracket are going to put more than a 5kg load on the two screws attaching it to the wall ........
If they're screwed in to the studs they should be fineThe fixings you originally linked too look like they only have two screw fixings into the wall.
