I went to the Statfold Barn Railway for the first time today, and came away very impressed. They had 19 locos running, and a pretty much continuous train service with trains running alongside each other in parts.

As well as this, there’s a large museum/roundhouse with a lot more engines and exhibits, including some interesting road vehicles.

I’m surprised it’s not more widely known

Not surprising as it is not widely publicised and is only open on about three days a year. If you want to go to one of the open days you have to apply in advance for an invitation, IIRC tickets cost about £10 and are excellent value. I went a couple of years ago and am planning to go again this year as there have been one or two interesting developments since.
