I thought I’d give it a bash today, so down to 30psi all round and away we went....

fk me, it was awful....really changed the feel of the car, turn in was noticeably poor and the razor-sharp handling was gone.

I thought it was only noticeable on track?

Normal pressures will be reinstated next weekend (provided it doesn’t snow!!).

I found the same, higher pressures definitely feel better for me on my 981 - much sharper and possibly a bit more feeling through the steering.

Thanks for a great point that I never thought about - going to try full pressures.

This is interesting. Comfort pressures are far better in my 991.1gts cab so I assumed they also would be in the Spyder. Will give un-comfort a try!

I was planning on trying the comfort setting for the first time in a few weeks.

Don’t think I’ll bother now!

They are Pirelli P Zeros (N0).

I will replace all four with Michelins later down the line.

However, I do like the Pirellis for high speed and dry weather work!!

Comfort pressures? Is this a lower pressure setting given in the handbook? Soz for the dumb question, but not heard this term before.

IIRC it's only applicable for cars with 20" wheels and involves running at 30 psi (cold) instead of the more usual 33 psi (cold).

20" wheels can give an excessively firm ride for many drivers and are often bought for cosmetic reasons - hence the reason for giving customers an "official" way when they complain about a harsh ride.

In reality experimenting with tyre pressures + or - 10% can be interesting on any car with any tyres.

As well as handling, tyre pressures also affect wear. If your tyres wear on both edges blow them up a bit. If they wear in the centre let them down a bit.

Wow. Spyder much better with 32 all round (normal pressure) than 30 (comfort). Felt both more lively and more composed.

if i wanted abit more comfort , i would change the tyre profile up a size next time when i change tyres. Might affect speedo abit but it makes alot of difference.

Car felt lighter on its feet but I also had more feel in the corners so felt I could push harder.
