2002 325i with dvd Sat Nav How to update the Sat Nav

I have a 2002 325i with Sat Nav it has cd changer and dvd in the boot. I have read about updating the Sat Nav but all I can find on eBay are map dvds is this what I need are is there another disc I need to update the firmware.

It was a 2 disc and 2 stage process when I updated my 2004 E46 M3 i.e. firmware disc and then map disc. This was going to 2017 maps and v32 version of firmware, from the original 2004 disc.

I don't think it's any different for non M cars as someone with a 330ci asked before, but it may be different depending on what version you have and what version you buy.

We’re did you get the firmware disc from I can’t find them anywhere on the net

My firmware reads 4-1/12 at the minute if that helps

I got my discs from a guy on the M3 cutters website.
I messaged him asking for 2017 maps and to do the full post code search.

He sent firmware too. He said.

This firmware upgrade will enable the following features

Perspective Mode
Speed Camera Alerts
Day/Night Mode

In the instructions I updated firmware first, then put in the map disc which stays in place.
see what your disc does, as you've ordered it.

I'll have a look and see if I can find the firmware disc, if I have it and you need it , I'll send it to you.

I messaged him and it’s just the maps not the firmware update I can only find one firmware disc on German eBay but I doubt that would be in English. If you do find it that would be great

I've found it. But just a thought, have you got the Mk IV Nav, as per attached ? Or the Mark III

I googled but I can't find the year of change. I have a MkIV and mine's 12/2004 car

I have a question will any map disc have postcode search are is there something I have to do to use it

Okay, well version 32 is my firmware, so we're equal on that.

map disc I had was called / described as this :-

BMW 2017 High Map Disc as below:-

DVD 1 Western Europe

This is the latest Western Europe (Full Coverage) map disc that I have moded to include the latest Speed Camera files for all of the UK.

• But I was also sent very specific instructions (PDF file) to enable the features , can email it to you if you want to post /pm an email address???
