I just saw a car on it's roof in the trees beside the M4 going towards london at about J10.

Looked like only one car involved and i realise it is not where the camera's are, but thought i would mention it.

Yet another one at J18 of the M4 today. This is actually just after the 40MPH road works and AT the section for the start of the speed cameras (not forgetting that the 40MPH road works are enforced by speed cameras also)....

Involved a truck and a white mondeo with an elderly couple in it. Nothing serious and probably just a "brush"....

But yet again, clear and concise proof that accidents do, and still continue to occur, while driving at LESS than the speed limit.

Speed cameras working then? In my quick add up, that makes 5-6 crashes in 11 days.... one every two days IN THE SPEED CAMERA SECTION...... Glad to see that the Wilts SCP have our safety at heart and are doing well for us all.....

And the worrying thing is that we havent even got to the worst periods yet...... this is SOoooo frightening that I just cant even thing about what will happen!!!

Presumably that's why the Scumera people issued such a glowing press release recently, which was glowingly reported by BBC. Smoother traffic flow, more space between vehicles, etc, etc. "Did we forget to mention the accidents? So sorry, must have been an oversight".

Another one this morning - yet again it involved a lorry...

Closed off one lane around Membury - isn't that Wilts...?

One again last night about 9:30pm Westbound between 14 and 15. Some sort of fairground truck lost the caravan it was towing, I think.

Luckily I was in the first 1/2 mile of the 13 mile queue.

From what I know (including the extra two just above (thanks guys), that makes 7 in 12 days, 4 of which involved closing the motorway.....

All with trucks (as far as I know) and some even in the 40MPH section at Bath.... Makes you wonder if they are living in a parallel universe or something because the M4 that I use isnt the same place as theirs!!!

Can i suggest you get full details and write down every accident you know of with as completely as you can with times/involved vehicles etc... l bet you in a months time the govt and camea partnership will come out with stats showing no accidents whatsoever..presumably cos the corpseof some unfortunate wretch didnt come crashign through tthe windscreen of an MP doing 90mph on the way to one of their meetings.

On the radio this morning they said a lane was shut on the M4 near Membury I think for 'emergency repairs'

Is that likely to be as a result of 'an incident' during the night?

Hedders - can I suggest you read my earlier post

I did read it, but you made it sound like it probably wasn't serious, so i was wondering if maybe something else happened too

No idea I am afraid. Certainly two that I have seen were 50/50 - one UK and one Euro truck. But that is probably not a good guide to the overall figures.

However, your question is perfectly valid - the fastest increase in accidents on our motorways are caused by or involve a Euro truck.... and dont forget that they dont pay a penny to use our roads.....

Another crash this morning - jc 10-11 Westbound (not in Wilts). When I went past the crash scene, guess what... There was a lorry on the hard shoulder

No it isn't. This is where they demand a 50mph speed limit.

ANOTHER two this morning I believe: Eastbound and Westbound J14 to J15.

They've obviously failed to stop us driving with all their cameras so they are taking an easier route....... and trying to kill us instead.

Scum!

There was also a motorcycle crash at jc8/9 Eastbound - which was queueing due to a lorry crash at jc 5 Westbound.

So speed not involved in either of these crashes either

Despite the "safety" cameras?

Come on camera representatives, let's have your "wise" words!
