650pm lease deal - which to choose
Discussion
Hello,
I am very unhappy with my current A4 B9 due to what I consider awful sline suspension and very hard seats. It just doesnt work for my lifestyle and comfort.
I decided to treat myself to a three year lease deal and my limit is 650pm with 5-6k up front.
I think I have it down to these three:
RR sport HSE dynamic 3SDV6
RR velar D300 SE with a few options
Poverty spec Jaguar ipace
I would probably have gone for more of a sports saloon but actually live in the country in scotland. We visit farms, stables etc a lot with truly dreadful private roads. Also, I like being able to mount the verges on these country roads, flexibility in snow, and the space and high riding position.
I lean to the RR sport as it has most space and seems best value. The velar looks best but is somewhat cramped inside and a bit posey. I know all of them are but .. Anyway, the ipace is exciting but scares me a bit tbh. Also, poverty spec is a little stingy on certain items. No leather, for example.

This would be my first lease and I confess I am nervous about one.
My logic is that i will 100% hand it back after three years anyway with a PCP. Therefore, there doesnt seem to be any difference? My only worry is dealing with a little lease company rather than a franchise.
Would the lease company try to milk me more over the little scratches to trim etc?
PS dont like BMW suv's. I am sure they are good but just dont think the looks work when raised.

Any reason for 3 year over 2 year lease? 2 year often seem best value.
People in the lease thread tend to add up all costs (deposit, monthlies, fees) to give a TCO, and then divide by the lease term to give an amortised monthly figure. Best way to compare leases of different terms I feel, as well as different amounts of 'deposit' etc.

Have you considered another A4 with alternate spec (adaptive/comfort suspension)? I've got a B9 SE (17" wheels, comfort suspension) and its rather comfortable aside from the fact I've still not found a comfortable driving position for long journeys and the joke of a clutch pedal (1.4T). Suspension is very compliant and bumps aren't really felt that much.
Ticking all the boxes worth ticking and some extras on a 1.4T manual Sport (all the packs, lumbar support, LED head/tail lights, metallic paint, adaptive suspension) puts you at about £500 on a 6+23 on 10k.
If I was to stay with an A4, I'd spend the same amount on a 2.0tfsi s-line DSG with adaptive suspension, comfort+sound pack, driving assistance pack and metallic paint.
Just worth a thought!

I had thought three years lease was the sweet spot. 2 years is extra 50 pounds a month, same deposit and you get it for one less year.
I have a 3litre a4 sline avant with 6k of options. I paid 6k deposit and 350pm with 8k discount from autoebid.
I cant bring myself to buy another A4 after making such a loss and to be honest i find it a bit dull. Want a bit more flash. The engine and interior are lovely but I literally hate the ride and seats. Its a constant vibration on fast roads that are anything but totally flat. While the suspension is quite advanced, i put it down to there being so little travel. If I were to go again i would probably get an allroad but its no going back now!
V90 cross country was a serious consideration. The pro looks both sleek and has a very good ride. I guess I am just a bit bias against the badge and its still very expensive on PCP due to high depreciation, classy more than flashy.
Tesla was considered but too low down and I dont really want a massive saloon.

£15k to drive a 1.4 litre repmobile for 2 years
The 1.4 is a cracking little engine & I would have one over a tractor 2 litre diesel any day of the week. Quite pokey too and returns good MPG
It did give me an incredible indicted range of between 500 and 550 miles from a full tank, but there's no way on earth i was actually getting that.
I was so upset with it that I found a near identical model but that was a "sport" trim. and faked interest/had a test drive. It rode much better but hard to be sure when not on your own roads, and with a salesman in the seat next to you. Not worth the 3k to change i figured. Having said that, the seats were far, far better in that model.
At the end of the day I think these junior execs are firmer than family cars or the model up eg A6. Audi's especially so and slines more on top.
Still, its almost a principle thing now. I have negative equity so I would be paying a huge amount of money just to change spec. Its more justifiable in my head if I change to new car.
For some context, I have young kid and another on the way. This and my lifestyle mean I have no spare time and the only "me thing" i have pleasure in is driving. Given I live in the country and drive a lot it makes "man sense" to spend my excess income on a fancy car. In three years time the situation will probably change and I might not go quite as fancy again.
Its a three year treat and i need to get it right this time.

Interesting point on consumables I hadnt considered. Still ...
3 year deal is about 591+ 5500 for 3 years
2 year is about 640 + 5900 for 2 years
https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/personal/ca...
Any idea how much the service plus consumables would be on top of that? More than 1k? I think given the initial payment is 6k, that additional year seems good value unless consumable very high.

leasing works best if you're flexible on car choice and wait for a deal to come up. Keep an eye on the lease thread.3 year deal is about 591+ 5500 for 3 years

They are brilliant btw, i'm coming from a 2014 and will be the first time i've got 2 of the same car consecutively.
I want some options though, heated steering wheel, met paint etc
