I've presently got a bi-colour Sub that I wear everyday, for everything. It's a tough watch and I like that I can wear it travelling to far flung places, on any occasion, in work or out of work... etc.. and it both holds up well and looks great. Would the Patek be usable in the same way or is it a delicate watch? My sub has numerous little knocks and scratch from years of daily. I love that it's a great looking watch that you can wear all the time.

I like the idea of having a watch that becomes part of you, and you can hand down to your children as something that came with you on all life's adventures. The sub is perfect for that and I really, really like it... just been taking a fancy to the Nautilus due to it being far rarer, a bit hard to get hold of, and "those in the know" would know what it is but its not garish.

I had a 5711 and it was lovely, but it picks up marks very very easily.

I wear my 5712 as a daily, and there are a couple of things to consider.
I've picked up about a dozen micro scratches in 2 years, so if you look close you can see it's not perfect. It doesn't worry me, but I guess some people might prefer to have it 100%.
Also you have to be comfortable walking around with that amount of value on. I offered to buy my wife a 7118/1A, but she didn't want to attract unwanted attention. Silly really because they are a lot more subtle than the Rolex she chose.

All the Nautilus family are super comfortable to wear.

Depends... If you're a scaffolder then probably not. If you take the train to the office then probably.

I wear a PP as a daily - nobody would know what it is, so quite safe in terms of not drawing any attention.

The Nautilus (assuming you can find one) is the perfect daily watch - very comfortable and hard wearing. Also great looking too.

I had a 5711 Nautilus and it was hands down one of the the most comfortable watches I have ever worn. Although the highly polished centre links and bezel are easily marked, the case and bracelet are so slim they never seem to be in the 'firing line' . My issue with it was I never seemed to wear it out of work, without a suit, as I found it so formal. I sold it and bought a 5167 Aquanaut. I absolutely love it, super comfortable tropical strap and I'm happy to wear it at anytime with anything.

I worm my 5712 for about a couple of weeks solidly when new and it did pick up a few marks despite me being very careful.

A guy I worked with closely for a few years has a 5980/1a. Wears it every day. Even though we do different things now (moved country office) when we bump into each other I unashamedly make a cheeky grab for his wrist to check it out.

I love loads of different watches and can see stuff I enjoy in most brands. But his watch is the only one I’d want if I had to choose the one to last me till the end. Envy.

He’s got some great toys, the boat, the cars, but I covet his 5980!

It's a lovely watch.

Only a few years ago I thought the Nautilus was an outdated and unattractive design. I see it entirely differently now - it's a great watch.

I love these. You could quite recently buy one for circa £30k, probably double that now that Nautilus fever has reached epidemic proportions!
