Resonance around 3,000rpm
Discussion
I had it, but through the gearstick. It's a bitch to fix!
Take off the centre console (5 words... bugger of a job!!! I posted a thread with the details on somewhere) and at the bottom rear of the gearstick is an allen/hex bolt. This had loosened and was allowing the gearstick to vibrate/zizz. I can't remember if I turned it fully clockwise or anti-clockwise then tightened the bolt. You might need to adjust the bronze bar that switches the reversing light while you're at it- just check that it works before re-assembling everything. In fact, drive the bugger before you put it back together. If the zizz has gone, great, if not, go back and loosen the hex bolt and turn the stick the other way.
Hope that's clear? Good luck and, before you start, take 2 Valium a last look at the skin on you knuckles!

Thanks for the hints blueyes. Mine is definitely the handbrake ...
Since my car is still under warranty I might leave the dealer to look at this. But this means another 90 miles trip each way and them possibly not curing it and time away from work etc. etc.
Might have a look myself ...

chris watton said:i had the 'normal' resonance building up to 3k rpm.it just vibrated through the car,as resonance does.on the tuscan, the dash seemed worse affected.check your exhaust isnt touching anywhere(mine wasnt).why,oh why, they dont just design a better manifold and eliminate the resonance is beyond me
I do know that Mongoose had this problem in his Tuscan at that rev range, drove him mad! Not sure what caused it though, but I don't think it was at all serious.
