Hi All,
I've been having some ongoing problems with my 525 (3.0L). Initially it was occasionally showing an engine fault reduced power warning alarm, and random rough idling.I had some diagnostics done, and the software updated, which showed the problem was with the HPFP and / or low pressure fuel sensor.
I have found some info that indicates the HPFP was subject to a BMW recall. Does anyone know if this is still the case, my local BMW centre were unwilling to confirm if it was still valid.
Thanks

I had exactly this HPFP problem with my E61 530i last year. I needed a new HPFP and the low pressure pump in the fuel tank.
I do not believe there was any recall on this. I think there may have been something for the 335i engine with this problem, but in North America only.
The bad news is that it was very expensive to fix - the HPFP was £600 or so on its own IIRC.
