Ambulance Service Manager lied about being a former police traffic officer. When quizzed by colleagues about his past he made their work lives difficult and hounded them out of their jobs.

He'll be out in 18 months if it's the usual half sentence tariff.

Walts have always been around. The Internet makes it easier for them, but also makes it easier to find them out.

He's in my LinkedIn network paperbag

I guess he won't be updating that for a while

Tellingly, he spent 7 years in in the Army as a grunt, followed by 9 years in "security".
You just know he's ticked many Walt boxes over the years, and boring retail cashiers with BS tales of bravery and heroism whilst he kept one eye open for shoplifters.

The cps.gov.uk site isn't working (won't load: keeps timing out).

My favourite Walt is the self-styled Lord Dublin/Earl of Dublin.smile

Thanks for that.

I'm disappointed to learn that fraudulent walt was formerly a Special.

Why is it that just by looking at his mug shot you could tell he was going to be a Walt?

But as his wages of £208,863 were received only because he got the job through deception they can be recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

I would be asking why the Ambulance service did not check his qualifications before offering him this plum job.

It is pretty basic stuff and shows the ineptitude of management there if others knew yet none of the complaints followed up.

The easy availability of flashing LEDs and also ex-Police vehicles doesn't help either. I've witnessed two such Walts in my local area in the last 5 years, both times white Volvo estates with CCTV stickers.

In fact, the only time I've ever heard of someone buying an ex-Police vehicle for reasons beyond them being a Walt or the vehicle being insanely cheap was about 15 years ago when a colleague bought an ex-Police BMW bike due to the fact it had uprated rear suspension which, after removing all the radio, computer, battery and other police equipment was pretty good at supporting his bulk (he was over 20 stone).
