Quick question; I've got two old quartz watches requiring batteries. Previously they e gone through batteries really quickly (6-9 months). Is this a sign of a crap battery or a knackered quartz movement?

Does anyone know if there's a particularly decent brand or type of battery which will last the longest??

Thanks

I was reading about this recently being in the same situation as you regards 2 of my watches. I read that if the movements haven't been serviced in some time, and mine have never been, then the increased resistance will use up more of the battery. Seemed to make sense.
I've ordered 2 replacement Renata batteries. They seem to look okay on the CousinsUK site.

I bought a "lifetime battery" in Timpsons of all places.

When the battery goes flat, drop it back to the shop with its card and they replace the battery for free.

I think the movement on one of the old watches has been left flat far too long. Thanks for the advice though.
