G4 Knock light issues

I'm trying to use the knock light as a tuning aid on a twin turbo rover v8 but seem to be getting det activation at 3000 and 4000 rpm.at around 50 to 70 kpa. I've retarded the ignition in those sites and surround sites which is now quite low and its still happening. I don't get it under boost. Could it be just "noise" it's picking up?

All such senors do is listen to noise....it's up to you to tell the ecu correct thresholds/settings for what you believe is knock or not.
