Bigger wheels for Griffiths

I have recently purchased a 97 Griffith and was wondering if anyone has comments on changing the standard 15/16 inch alloys to say 17 inch. If so, which wheel suits the car best? Cheers

Personal thoughts are that nothing suits the car more than the original Estorils. Keeping hold of them will probably make your car easier to sell on one day as well as maintain its originality and value.

Having said that, the Raceline RL7's (see RichB's profile) do look rather fabulous if you can pick up a four stud set. TVR have used them as an OE fit in the past so they are, at least, accepted and recognised by the marque.

I could upset some purists here, but I saw a Chim 500 with 18" spiders and it looked fantastic. Can only imagine that the Griff would look just as good (if not a little better (IMHO)).

If it weren't for the potentially back breaking ride quality, i'd be tempted!

The Chim with 18" spiders belongs to tvrbob, he had a hub conversion IIRC.

Four stud limits choice, but there are lots of good alloys out there. Get lots of advice from the Alloy company with regards to setup and balance.

RL-7's are rare rare rare as they don't make them anymore.

You can fit the Wilwoods under standard 15" wheels, as well!

Thanks for the input on this topic. I think I will run my new Griffith on its current 15/16 inch alloys and see how I go.
