I've found I like Tesco own brand India Pale Ale.

It was an emergency, it was all there was to drink and I enjoyed it. Now I buy it on purpose. No one is more surprised than me.

Having had an unbroken streak of buying Heinz ketchup in my life, I bought the Helmans brand. And it was very nice.

A woman in the gym yesterday was telling me she doesn't approve of the Oxford - Cambridge boat race because it's "elitist". Conversation turned to her holiday in Malta and where she stayed. The chose her hotel on the basis that, "it's quite expensive so you tend not to bump into common people".

A friend became a wine snob. Blimey he was hard work. Taking a bottle of wine when you went to visit became a humiliation. He would read the label and say, "You don't want that rubbish, come and try this." Admittedly, I'm no expert; my favourite wines are red with a screw cap. But I felt I had to do something to at least be in the right league. On the way to his house one evening we stopped at an Off Licence and I outlined my predicament. "What do you have where he will read the label and say "Wow!" ?" and I came out with the second most expensive bottle of wine in the shop. We arrived. We knocked. They opened the door and greeted us. I proudly handed him the bottle. He read the label and said, "You don't want that rubbish, come and try this."

We never told him and eventually we lost contact.

This is the end result.

Become a snob, friends don’t want to see you anymore, because you’ve become a dick.

I’ve had a couple of friends like this that have become more and more pompous as they’ve got older. The lucky ones have wives that point it out and keep them from becoming complete plonkers.

If someone a bit pompous marries a meek partner, or worse another snob, then there’s no hope.

I'd never own a Ferrari even if they give them away, because I don't like the way Enzo Ferrari use to treat his customers. (Or Jean Todt for that matter, given how he treated some friends of mine, long time Ferrai buyers, who visited the factory a while back.)

Tesco do an Puglia Zinfandel, used to be £3.99, I think it might be about £4.20 now.

It's really good. I buy it by preference.

Just checking, I still hate Burberry and don't wear baseball caps backwards. I must still be OK.

Proving the rule that real class has no affectation, one of the most unassuming and unfailingly courteous men that I have ever had the pleasure to know was Gerald Westminster, the old Duke.

I remember once sitting next to him at a very swept-up dinner where he was wearing, without doubt, the oldest and shabbiest Dinner jacket in the room and was sporting one cufflink and one cuff held together with a twisted paperclip

Do you think that;
A) the supermarkets have built their own brewery in order to supply own brand beer, or
B) they contract it out to an existing brewery that almost certainly makes it alongside a branded beer you would usually buy

If you do a brewery tour, they’ll tell you all the supermarkets they make for. Wytchwood brewed for a surprisingly wide range...

Bottle. One can't possibly...

To be honest I've only seen it in bottles in our Tesco.

For the best I'd say, he sounds like a right ahole.

I'm not to fused about brands generally. I like value for money.

However I only have Samsung phones and my colleagues and mate who have Huawei, Window's, apple stuff etc call me a phone snob. I've turned into one redface

Mention “Asda” on PH and people start frothing as if it’s Dante’s 9th circle of hell. It seems the same stuff as Tesco, Sainsbury, or Morrisons and yet, somehow, Asda is awful? confused

Oh no! I bought my Samsung as I have a big inverted snobbery thing about Apple products and their owners. (Plus I wanted the freedom of Android and the micro SD card). Gonna have to switch to something else now!
