Smart repairs for interior trim on Audi B9 S4.

Do any of you know if smart repairs for small scratches on aluminium look B9 S4 trim work very well?

I don't think they do - pretty sure it's just plastic with a film over it, so going anywhere near it with sufficient vigour to remove scratches will take the finish off completely.

You can buy the bits individually, so depending on circumstances probably better to just replace. This a car you own, or looking to buy?

A car I lease and it's the trim that goes the whole length of the dash

Could you not have it wrapped in a similar style and hope they don't notice on returning the car?

Bad enough that it wouldn't count as fair wear and tear? I'd be surprised if the penalty for damage, if noticed, will be anywhere near the cost of replacement

I have the car for another 2.5 years and I know it's going to bug me!
