Crackerjack!
Last night emerging from the depths of the garage noticed Madame FiF was watching one of these numerous best 100 programmes where numerous Z-list numpties issue their views on whatever topic is the programme subject, last night's subject was Kids TV programmes.
Somewhere about 30 -odd ish was Crackerjack.
Crackerjack!
Those of middle years will remember the quiz game where correct answers resulted in an accumulation of prizes which must not be dropped, incorrect answers resulted in a cabbage which also must not be dropped.
This idiotic woman alleged that the whole object of the game was to express the class struggle, in that the cabbages were a symbol of the kids carrying their working class burden and struggling to achieve their aspirations. Or some similar feckwit observation.
No wonder the country is in the state it is with utter warts like her about. Another one for the list come the revolution.

I saw that - something - a rubber brick was thrown at the TV.
I thought the cabbage was chosen as it was a worthless piece of jumble and made getting more prizes awkward cause of their shape.
Another guy slated it for being like a holiday camp show for kids. So what - it was great TV when you were kid.
I do hate some of the commentators. They mock some of these very popular programmes for no other reason then to look clever on TV. When I see Miami Vice or something on the "best of the 80s", I want to hear about snippets of trivia that the fans tell you rather than some w**ker going "and wearing shoes with no sock uhuhuhhuh".....
and breathe...
I have a video of Watership Down taped off the telly in the 80s with about five minutes before it of 'The Krankees Elektonik Komik', their prime-time Saturday night bonanza, featuring no less than Bernie Clifton and The Grumbleweeds. Oh how I wished I'd recorded the whole thing for prosperity...
Plotloss said:Now, y'see I thought it was "five-to-five"... but my wife said "no, it's 'five-oclock'"... sure enough, one of the clips they used last night had the "it's Friday, it's five-oclock - it's crackerjack"...
Unfortunately though its not Friday and its not five to five...
Did they change the time it started or something or are we all wrong?
What's the concensus?

I completly agee to the extent that I now switch-off these programmes, even if they're about something I really want to see.
ESPECIALLY I hate the fact that the great majority of "celebrity experts" - most of who are completely unknown to me anyway - were either ovums or at best toddlers at the time the programmes they profess to know all about were screened.
Pi55 off TV cretins - you weren't there! Idiots. Why the cult of youth? TV seems to be staffed entirely by 20-somethings who know jack-sh1t about feck-all.

Plotloss – sorry for being nosey, but are you related to the Krankies? GregE240 certainly knows something.
No affiliation at all thankfully, they are an odd couple and wrong on so many levels. I have mentioned this before and it tickled Greg, which is why he commented I guess.
Stu francis, the great suprendo, the krankies and gunk... that's proper crakerjack.. but they always show some old thing on the clips show that's just wrong!
I think the woman going on about the class struggle was trying to be funny... I think?
Oooh I could crush a grape!
