F57 Mini Cooper S

After deciding that our Mk1 TT roadster wasn't getting much use we should look at the fleet and perhaps go down to 2 cars.
After a brief look around I managed to find a Convertible S at a Suzuki dealer, it has pretty much every option ticked which made it even more appealing. We agreed a deal with the A4 being PX'd, however the day before that changed and we are going to sell it privately.
We booked some train tickets and caught the 6.07 train and arrived at the destination at 9.37.
We had a quick look around but it was raining .... on the face of it the colour looked good and there were no signs of it being painted.
But it was always going to be a guess given everything was wet. Having spent 2 years working in the trade you can usually pick a lemon within the first 30 seconds, this looked ok and drove nicely. Given its a 2 year old car, well will be in 1 months time it still have the balance of Mini TLC and 1 years warranty.
Spec wise, it has heated seats, screen, headup, HK, park assist, adaptive suspension, adaptive cruise ...
So here we go ....
Might as well go in the comfy seats

Ooh a wheel
They still have steam at Alton ...
And there it is .... although it always makes me uncomfortable when its parked close to a fence (it was ok)

That will need addressing then ......... and only 11800mls .....
Now its home we had better get on with the cleaning..... It receives a quick wash and wipe down with TAC systems Quartz Max, tyres were dressed with Autobrite.
What did we find before it chucked it down with rain, there are a couple of parking dings, a few tiny chips and a couple of light scratches but nothing too bad at all. The front passenger wheel has had half a refurb but the paint looks original. I'll get the dents addressed, the car was wet and it was around 3k cheaper than anything at Mini.

£55 is good going. A lot of the genuine accessories can be picked up cheaply on ebay if you check auctions regularly. I grabbed the stubby aerial and wing extensions for well below retail - makes splashing out all the more tempting though.

A workmate of mine has the same generation MINI and every time I see it I can’t help but notice how massive the door mirror pods are! If there was an aftermarket mirror probably 2/3rds of the size it would look a lot better (IMHO)
I'm not a fan either, I've got electric folding mirrors but I still managed to catch the garage wall the other day putting it the garage! I had my 330i for 4 years and never caught the mirrors.Not yet, it looks like you need the spots as one kit and the brackets as another, I guess it would be near on £400 if you fit it yourself.
I've got mudflaps to fit and i need a windbreak for when the roof is down, Mini are £375 for the windbreak so it looks like aftermarket at £175 is more appealing. It just means i have more money to put towards the tuning kit.

Suspect the pads need changing as there are so many drivers these days intent on driving up the backside of other cars and touching on the brakes all the time.
I believe BMWs use the rear brakes as part of the cruise control system, ours also has active cruise control so it brakes even more than normal. It's only when you set cruise control do you realise just how inconsistent people are with their speed,steve-5snwi said:

We have one, used about 5 times in its bag from my Mrs Cooper that she got rid of a month ago. Hers was the previous shape to yours, a 15 plate so not sure if it'll fit but she wants to sell it as we have no need for it in her new one. As far as I know it's a genuine BMW one. If you want I can take a pic.
We love a Mini in our house, here's her latest one...
2.0 Cooper SD with JCW pack and loads of extras. Yours looks a good deal.
