Replacing Brake Master Cylinder - Advise?

After changing the discs and pad, found that the master cylinder has partially failed.. ie have lost the front braking.

I have unbolted the pedel assembly and just need to bleed the clutch and brake systems down before disconnecting the pipes.

Any general hints and tips for anyone who has done the job?

IE easiest way the detach the accelerator cable?

I'm not brave enough to change mine.
Local TVR agent wants £189.00 + VAT for part.
Total bill is £527.92 inc VAT.
Paul at Austec reckons three hours labour and the part is a Fiesta Sport with a nipple fitted.
His price for the master cylinder is about £55.00 + VAT.
He's getting the job!!
