Just considering future car options as my lease runs out next year and really like these two.

I wouldn't be buying a new car. Maybe a 2014 model of either. (Obviously after test drives of these and others and probably dependent on the outcome of that and what's available at the time).

I know when they were new they were getting stolen left right and centre and that the new models are still being stolen all the time. I am wondering if the older versions are still being robbed regularly as the price of these and desirability will have dropped in comparison to their fully specced facelift versions.

I suspect the average car gang aren't as discerning as us PHers when it comes to whether or not they go for the face lift model or not.

Thanks for your response. I guess they might be more interested in discerning the highest value product as lots of these are stolen for order and shipped abroad. Just wondered what people on here had noticed.

Although maybe not as interested if it's a single-use get away vehicle.

The "stolen for order" thing is over played and misunderstood according to a friend in the Police.

Nine times out of ten, when they're stolen to order it means for a job or to be broken for parts, rather than to be shipped abroad, unless it's higher end stuff.

We had an attempted theft of my 65 plate R a few weeks ago although they didn’t get mine another was taken the next night and used in a crime 15-20 miles away.

They wouldn’t elaborate on the crime.
