Keep on looking for some mirrors TT or carrado, are there any others that would fit okay?

I was walking around the supermarket car park the other day looking and thought anyone watching me would be thinking what’s that dodgy character doing

If you want to see what Corrado mirrors look like.....just look at everything from the Cerbera onwards. They are standard fit.
I have fitted them to my Chimaera with adaptors and like them.

Any ideas where to get them Qbee? There’s a couple on eBay at the moment but they seem pretty rare now

Hi

RaceTech are doing them, either as individual units or as a pair with the conversion mounts:

Sorry, Lee, but that is without the mounts.

On a Chim or Griff, you need an adaptor from Fibreon, or you need to fill in the hole in the door first. Your call. I went for the adaptors, which were around £90 for the pair. Fibreon make them, others sell them as well, but charge more.

My mirrors were £50 the pair from a VW breakers near Derby. They had several sets in near perfect condition. The Racetech ones are £90 each inc VAT, so £180 a pair. But they are brand new. Your choice. I would go for the brand new ones despite the cost.

Here is what it looks like with the adaptors.

You will need to ask Racetech if they have the door buttons already fitted if yours is a later Chimaera. Obviously mine didn’t, the mirrors coming off a Corrado. Not difficult to swap them over, just fiddly. You need to drill the hole to take the switch fairly well behind the mirror itself.

If you decide to go ahead I can always bring my car over so you can see how it all goes. If I were doing it again and was willing to have the doors resprayed, I would fibreglass the holes and do without the adaptors.

Thanks for replies, I will have a look at the race tech ones, haven’t seen any cheap ones for a while now.
My Chim is an early one so no buttons in the mirrors
