Just put a deposit on a scramble with a build slot in 2 weeks time (cancelled order). I've heard there are delays with petrol tanks, can anyone enlighten me. Will I get the bike in or around 4 weeks from now. How should I pay, bank transfer or credit card?

Always pay with a credit card (If they will accept it), for the protection it affords.

Your bike will be well worth the wait.

Think you’ll be lucky to have a 4 week delivery, some of us have been waiting 10 months or so, having said that production has now started though tanks are in short supply, they have another tank manufacturer on board now so hopefully not long till deliveries start.
As said it’ll be worth the wait, won’t suit all but I’m looking forward to mine arriving like a small child waiting for Christmas.

When I was working in the bike trade my employers approached ccm to try and either purchase some of their bikes or become a dealer for them or both, can't remember which now, and basically they weren't interested in the slightest to do any business with my boss who was the most enthusiastic nicest guy you could ever be fortunate enough to meet..... He vowed then and there never to have anything to do with ccm ever again.... It's sad to hear that things haven't changed with them

Looks like somebody bought the name and is producing "lifestyle" bikes. Somebody must be turning in there grave.

I looked round them at the Excel and agree they are very pretty, but to me none of them were finished.
I couldn't help thinking 'where's the front mudguard?' 'Where's the number plate going?' 'Those rear lights aren't legal' etc.
Looked like concepts rather than finished ready to retail bikes.

As far as I know Alan Clews is still alive and kicking, not sure who else would be inferred ? CCM is now run by his son, who I would presume knows his father better than us. If I’ve missed something then apologies.

Just to clarify that whilst I’ve been waiting 10 months or so for the bike I went into this with my eyes open, the bike was sold as a concept and prospective owners were all aware they would be waiting a while. Whilst CCM haven’t been perfect (who is) they have communicated with us throughout and we are all eagerly awaiting our bikes. They have had some supplier issues with both quantity and quality but haven’t rushed the design and production process at the expense of quality. I’d not worry about any past concerns, they are trying to do the “right thing” which should be applauded.
Price may look steep but it’s a very limited run, where else can you get a 600cc bike that weighs 125kg ?

Sorry I just thought I would share my perspective on past experiences of trying to buy some machines from ccm.
I appreciate that you went into the deal with your eyes open, but back in 2001 the way they treated a perspective customer with cash waiting to order/ buy bikes was not a good one...

According to the fountain of knowledge Wikipedia the Clews family only bought back the CCM name in 2004 after losing it in the 90s so whoever your boss/friends dealings were with they definitely aren’t there now.

That makes sense.... I couldn't tell you who it was to be honest back then but they managed to turn a polite mild mannered bloke into a raging swear machine in just one phone call .... Something like fking cheeky bds fk ccm smile I'll take my fking custom elsewhere.....

So we ended up buying an earlier version of these above for openerssmile that was the start of many weird and wonderful bikes

I ordered a flat tracker at the 2017 bike show where I was told to expect the bike by late spring. By October I still didn’t have my bike so a friend of mine offered to buy it. I called CCM and asked them, as the bike hadn’t been built yet, could they register it in my friends name. Darren Soothill told me I needed to pay £500 ‘admin’ and when I refused he said that we were supposed to keep the bikes for 6 months after purchase before selling them on. I asked him to show me where that was mentioned in the contract and then I received an email offering me a refund which I immediately accepted. If they have any aspirations to become a bigger company then this sort of carry on is unacceptable. I received a refund minus the £500 I gave them at the bike show but I consider it a lucky escape! I went and bought a BMW R Nine T with a steel tank!!

Is it just me, or does the CCM look a bit like a Gilera sports moped?
