BMW 123d hard to start and low on power

Hello all,

I wonder if someone has experienced similarly symptoms to these and can help me out.

Car is very difficult to start, taking several attempts.

Once started the car has very little power.

I have had the injectors removed and tested, apart from overfuelling slightly they are ok.

Any other ideas?

This sounds like a fuelling problem.

If it were mine I'd change the fuel filter and see if that improves things. That is if you can do basic maintenance. You'll need to fill up the filter with diesel purge or diesel if you do this.

It could also be the lifter pump, but generally I've seen cars cut out completely when these die.

Either way, getting the codes read and some live data will go a long way in diagnosing this.
