ORIGINALLY NI REGISTERED CAR HELP!!

Bought a car in ROI a few weeks ago, currently on ROI plates, i want to put it back on NI plates, it was previously registered in NI - do i just apply for a V5C Registration Certificate? ive sent away for one and have got nothing back its been 5 weeks.. does anyone know how this works??

If it is registered down south, surely you'll need to "import" it back to the UK/NI ? with the relevant forms.
