Yesterday I put some of that tyre puncture foam in my of my tyres that keeps losing pressure. Today I did about 55miles and got an abs warning light. Arrived where I was going switched off. Put ignition on to try and clear the fault light via the i drive. Suddenly everything went crazy steering fault air bag fault etc and totally dead won't even turn over
Thoughts?

  1. You're probably going to regret using that foam next time you come to change tyres - it is horrible stuff.
  2. Unless you took the wheel off while you were adding that foam, I don't see how that is related to any electrical problems. If you did take the wheel off, it's possible you damaged or dislodged the wiring to the wheel sensor while you were doing it.

Nope don't think so. AA man called out and he checked the battery. 11.75. Tried a booster pack nothing. Took it back to his yard and apparently bump started it. He thinks it's the starter. I have my doubts as no previous symptoms. Don't think they bothered to read the codes . It has been recovered to my local garage

11.75v is far from fully charged.

Do you have a multimeter?

If so test it with everything switched off & then turn your headlights on & measure again.

A fully charged battery will measure about 12.6v and while the difference doesn't sound like much 12.25v is about half charged.

So for anyone that's interested it turned out to be a broken earth strap.

Good news! A nice cheap fix.
