I'd have to agree - look great on the ladies, but not so good on fellas. Would recommend you go for a boot with a squarer end.

One of those items which (and I think I started a thread on this ages and ages ago) looks great in the right place, but f**king awful in the wrong place; i.e. Cowboy boots look great if you're in Texas, but not so good in Tamworth. Same as Drizabone coats...great in the Aussie outback, but wouldn't be seen dead in one on the Kings Road...
