Peugeot 207 1.6 hdi turbo problem
Discussion
Hi guys, can you help? My pug 207 1.6 hdi 90 ran fine til turbo jammed . . I had turbo exchanged at garage then drove short distance home. . Next day broke down on way to work in a cloud of white smoke and loss of power. . Towed it to garage. . Next day it started. . I took it out and it died again in the same way when warmed up. . So garage blanked off the egr and i just took it out again. . And i just broke down again in a plume of white smoke. . Will turn over but wont fire. . Have you any suggestions please? Thankyou had no issue prior to turbo failure
That means nothing.
Several years ago I took a gearbox to be refurbished at a gearbox specialist & he couldn't do a simple task on it.
I then used another after that to fit it & he used an angle grinder to remove 2 lugs off it he couldn't be bothered to put bolts in!
You need to ask what he actually did.

Common as muck fault with this engine.
Oil feed supply pipe is too narrow and gets clogged up and starves the turbo of oil.....regularly.
Worst engine ever in the PSA range.
There is a modified pipe available to cure this problem but regular and I mean regular oil changes are essential.
Crap engine. Full stop.

The blurb that comes with re manufactured turbos for these turd engines asks for a new feed pipe to be fitted and the sump dropped to clean the pickup pipe then a test to establish how much oil is delivered to the turbo over a set period . I won’t warrant a new turbo on these anymore
