53 days to breathe enough life into the de Tomaso to get it through the weekend, I fear it won’t be enough which is a damn shame. Next year for the De T I think

None the less, plenty to do to the ‘Nazi engined slot car” as well, clutch replacement ‘OUCH’ some paint work and of course enough time to get a sticker made up with

“Deauville says no”

Oh and a set of pads wouldn’t go a miss either and on top of that the big three year service.

I love Le Mans, just think how much better off we would all be without it

Just nipped to Halfords to pick up some number plate adhesive pads, ended up buying a new tiny sleeping bag.... Anything on my mind?

That's it, all I need now is my passport, toothbrush, can of Deo, Tent and a credit card!

Is it really that good - you guys do seem VERY Excited. My first time - more interested in the stuff away from the track than all these cars pounding round for 24hrs! Beer and burnouts.....

was down there over the weekend with a couple of buddies (avec ladies) - grif, C4, f355 convoy. staying close(ish) by so HAD to drive the circuit pointing out stuff. clearly the girls were very interested (not) to see the point where the cars enter the mulsanne (N138), the chicanes by the roundabouts on the way done - the cool banking at indianapolis and the place where we always fall asleep behind the fence at arnage! all looking fantastic and just wetted the appitite nicely for june. can't wait...


p.s. missed the ferry from le havre on the way home due to p*****g rain. fyi, it takes about 2 hours round the motorway from there to calais for the ferry/train if it ever happens to you.

This doesn't include numerous Pre qualifiying weekends, Classic Le Mans twice and other trips through.

Seriously, you can get anything you need for the weekend down there and as for the essential alchohol, it is wwaaayyyyyy cheaper. You have however, got to figure out the Le Mans problem of getting your beer cold.............answers on a postcard please.

We use an electric coolbox plugged into the car ciggie lighter. Keeps your nosh for the BBQ fresh too! (Assuming of course your nominated transport has a fag lighter/boot!)

Drink red wine and Port old boy, remember the Brandy is much cheaper dans le francais as well And the champagne tent seems to keep it chilled enough for mad friday

Last year was out first time - its bloody addictive and amazing fun! The word 'carnage' springs to mind.

Just buy bottles of frozen water to put in the base of your keep cold. Top up with yet more water and hey presto, your own ice bucket. As used for beer, champers, etc.

The swimming pool was surprisingly good last year too!
