Sorry the search doesn't seem to be working, as I'm sure someone has said before, but anyone know what it’s off?
The wipers stopped passed the end of their stroke with half of a wet & dark M25 left
I got the motor out ok, the output neck of the case has sheared off. I gave Lucas part no to my local parts dealer & he tried the local Lucas places, but couldn’t get one. TVR have one for £150 but there must be a cheaper alternative?

The wiper motor was a Lucas part but the company that made them went through a management buyout - LAP Electrical in Birmingham now make them. Not sure that they supply direct but they should be able to help you find one.

Thats great Thanks Chaps

Have you had the same problem, I'm guessing it results from TVR possibly not mounting it properly causing undue stress on the output?

Not on the TVR but I have had loads of trouble with the motor on my Mini, I guess they're just weak.

Also glad I saw this - my wipers are OK on normal and fast, but when on intermittent they get part way across the screen, stop, then maybe return!!

Is this likely to be the motor, or something else?

that's a bargain, take it.
don't buyn a mini wiper motor .. it isn't the same, the cerbie has a 135degree sweep .. a mini's sweep is close to 90 degrees. look at teh size of the wiper gearbox, on the cerbera it's massive because it governs the travel on the drive cable .. the mini has a short throw drive cable, the cerbera probably one of the longest ever.

Mine started this at the weekend and was sorted today by Silverstone TVR

It was the wiper parking switch, give them a call.

This is a good point. The Mini motor is the same but you will need to swap the gear wheel and maybe the gearbox. My mini has a 110 degree sweep gear on it and I know they do differ. If you can fit the 135 degree wheel in the gearbox then do so, just a clip on the back. If not I am sure a 110 degree sweep would be ok, seeing as Cerbera wipers over sweep anyway.

Ah, thanks again for that.

It turns out the part that snapped was a separate small part that dosen't come with a new motor anyway, as the nice guys at MiniSpeed showed Mandy when she popped in for me, they found it quite novel having a girl coming in with a bag of greasy bits! This part is aparently quite hard to get but luckily they had one of an old mini out the back, so it was all fixed for a tenner in the end.

Just glad I didn't send off for one mail order now, I was worried I'd get the wrong thing...

The Wiper Motor from Mini Spares is NOT the same as the Cerbera Motor. I ordered one, so I know !!

It comes without any of the Internal Wiper mechanism (It is just the Electric Motor). And the gear parts from the Cerb Motor will NOT fit the Mini Motor. The gear wheel on the Cerb Motor is about 3" diameter, the Mini Motor housing will only take a 2" diam gear wheel, so the only interchangeable parts are the 3 little Carbon brushes and mounting plate, nothing else fits !!

Now does anyone want to buy a brand new Mini Wiper Motor?

Sorry to hear that. I changed the motor over with one from my mini spares. it had the same lucas part number. I had to remove the whole gearbox, not just the gears.

Are you sure its different? If it is then I must have removed an uprated one from a mini in the scrappy about 3 yrs ago!
