I'm quite surprised to hear you say that Simon.
Whilst I've nothing to compare them too on the 570, today having done 150 miles in my new car in the rain & damp (temp down to 6c tonight) & whilst giving it quite a bit of stick on all sorts of roads, I thought the car felt like a real weapon on them.
Once or twice the steering was a tad twitchy whilst really pressing on over twisty / bumpy quick lanes, however it didn't feel unsafe to me. Guess it probably helps that I'm used to Caterham's steering which is super rapid with a quick rack & pretty flighty too.
I had a couple of very minor slides coming out of third gear corners but nothing that I wasn't expecting with the torque surge on a damp road.
What were the difference's you felt with the standard version?

Hi, I have driven one or two faster cars in my time so understand the quick steering etc Whilst I've nothing to compare them too on the 570, today having done 150 miles in my new car in the rain & damp (temp down to 6c tonight) & whilst giving it quite a bit of stick on all sorts of roads, I thought the car felt like a real weapon on them.

The Corsas do not get up to temp very easily not with my driving style anyway. The are very sensitive to tram lines and move around a lot under braking. The steering has a woolly disconnected feel, t’was the same on the Vantage too. Grip levels my be similar but feel is much better on the zeros at current road temps
Indeed, I was racing Radicals at the exact same time as you so I do know your not scared easy!
Interesting you feel the steering is vague on them, first impressions mine feels really informative on them. Yes there is a bit of tram lining but rather assumed with tyres this wide they all did that to a degree.
I've not used the brakes hard with them being so new & not giving good bite yet, maybe I'll be a bit more critical if they are unstable under hard braking on the road.
Tyre temps were not great yesterday in the damp & cold, but when pushing on a bit they soon came onto the green but that was on a twisty fun run not a just normal going somewhere trip.
Suns due out tomorrow & for the next week or so, hopefully that will really bring them to life.
A lot of people seem to rate the Michelins, if you do change to something else do come back on & let us know what you make of the switch.
