Opening door and water temp
Discussion
1. I was driving up the motorway this afternoon when the door suddenly clicked open. The catch just about held the door but it put the sh*ts up me for a few seconds as I was resting my right leg on it (gently). Has this happened to anyone else?
2. Standing in traffic a couple of times recently and noticed the water temp climb to 106-108C. I can't remember it being that high before and it does seem rather excessive. Anyone know what the normal high is?
Sorry if these are both previous posts.
Cheers.

Water temp problem is probably an air lock in the system (I had the same thing) - Just needs bleeding from the two allen key venting points.
Aparently its slightly different for the different radiator layouts, but if you have the horizontal radiator then the vent points are on the high points of the pipe where it both enters and exits the radiator.
Its a reiterative process... take cap off expansion tank, loosen bolt one until coolant / air starts to exit.. wiggle bolt until air bubbles stop then re-tighten (carefull not to loosen too much so that bolt comes out completely, you loose the little copper washer, and have a fountain of coolant...
), same with bolt two, put cap back on and run engine for 5 to 10 minutes, and repeat. Continue until no more air escapes..!
