One of our Directors here in the UK had one delivered two weeks ago, identical colour. Brave purchase in my opinion. Here in the UK only selected dealers can service them and the service intervals are every six months as the dealer admitted that the engine is a bit of an unknown quantity with regard to reliability and oil consumption. Tax is crazy amount, insurance even for him (50+) is alot.
I admire Kia for doing this but to me it seems 10years too late, exec barge with a huge engine with a couple of turbos slapped on doesnt seem like the kind of cutting edge technology I would have expected from Kia.

Wholeheartedly agreed, much as it pains me because I really like that they have done it. OP, lovely car, great color, and very brave choice... well done! Looks like you are in the US so tax and insurance will be less fo a factor?
I was considering one before going for the Giulia, but alas the lease deal on these was about twice the cost so I backed off.
Lovely looking thing - I took a look at one in my local dealer (that was a dreadful 'experience'), and really liked it - and it's a serious consideration to replace my 440i.
May I be so crass and ask how much they are charging for these in the US? Here in the UK, they're priced, rather bizarrely, just over the crucial £40K threshold, which triggers considerably higher road tax, and this will impact sales I feel.

Not so. The car is priced JUST under £40k when the OTR costs are excluded. VED Price is £39,885, including premium paint. It does make a rod for Kia's back as any price adjustment will put it over the line.May I be so crass and ask how much they are charging for these in the US? MSRP before options is $38,350 which is about 27k GBP right now.May I be so crass and ask how much they are charging for these in the US? No, I didn't, I fully intended to, but the dealer experience was dreadful. I may take the opportunity of a drive if it presents itself, I've a feeling it would just make me want one more. I love my 440i, so I'm not desperate, it's just that I love the looks, and the whole 'different/not obvious' choice....Did you drive it?

That's good value, relatively of course! What else did you consider? How much American iron do you get for that much cash?
