Ebay item sells , clearly marked “collection only “ and cash 0n collection , I am in south London , the winner is in Ireland !! and as expected , no contact .
Then an Item on sale this time is a bicycle , again “collection only “ first bid , Lithuania .
Son sold car parts , bit fragile , again “collection only “ also cash on collection , and he gets a double whammy , pays by PP and expects the item to be sent by courier , FOC

The perennial answer is not to use them for selling. Buying still seems ok. I have used specialist enthusiast groups on Fbook with a cash on collection approach and had 100% success so far. Unjoin yourself after business has been completed is easy.
