Twenty cylinders and counting.The n+1 conundrum.

As a wise man once said, while the minimum number of cars one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of cars currently owned.

First up we have something sort of sensible.





2018 Skoda Octavia vRS 245 2.0 TSI. Has a clever diff. Carries things and people relatively quickly. Does work stuff. Drinks fuel unnecessarily.

Second up we have this old thing. Thirsty, leggy, crusty and generally brilliant.



1990 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.9 V8. 203,000 miles and counting. Entirely surplus to requirements but the old heap has really got under my skin.

Something classic for the weekend one sunny day each year.





1971 Mercedes Benz W115 220. 68,000 miles on the clock. Bought unseen after a few years of slumber in a Liverpudlian carport. A little recommissioning later and it's a lovely thing. Could do with two (or four) more cylinders mind...

Finally, something silly. Now where's my hairdryer?

1990 Eunos Roadster. ITBs, Megasquirt, LSD, Elise seats, coilovers, semi-slick tyres... you get the idea.

Well, you appear to be winning at life!
That Mercedes is a lovely thing, such a clean simple design.
What am I saying, they are all lovely things (Octavia wheels the only possible exception ), and I am jealous as hell.

Unfortunately I think medication may be the only solution to the n+1 conundrum. I'm currently at fifty-eight cylinders (excluding the mower but including a couple of spare engines kept "just in case") and still to be found perusing various classifieds during many of my lunch hours...
