Morning,

As i'm st at buying used vehicles, thought i'd pop on here for a steer smile

I'm looking at V50's in either the D3 or D4 engine, preferably the 4. Budget around £7k so i'm looking at ages around 2010/11 and cars with a few miles on.

Have been reading up as much as I can and they seem pretty reliable, with bodywork/interior etc holding up well with age. Service intervals on the D3/4 look to be 18k with aux belt at 108k or 10 years, is this an excessively expensive job?

Obviously i'm looking for vehicles with service history etc and will test drive vehicles of interest before commitment.

Anything else people can tell me about/advise for these cars?

Thanks! smile

There's nothing to really report but you are aware these are based on the Focus estate but don't quite handle as well so maybe consider one of (do not under any circumstances buy the 1.6d version of either car)those too.

Yes aware of the Focus connection thanks. Had an ST3 Estate (diesel) as company car when the newest shape first came out, great car actually!

Certainly not interested in 1.6 engine, def the 5 cylinder jobbie of the D3 or D4. Did test drive a D3 SE Lux at a local place and was quite impressed with how it went! So I imagine the higher powered D4 will impress further.
