I want to order some spare fuses for my 95 Griffith and can't remember what type they are.

Also my cooling fans have stopped working. I know fuses are the first port of call and I can see in teh diagram which one it is but it doesnt say what fuse type? I know you can run to 40A

My manual (4.0 pre cat) says 25 Amp, but Steve Heath's book says 40 Amp

Sorry, I hadn't realised that is what you were asking.

it is standard flat blade fuses such as these

The glow-blow fuses light up when the fuse has blown, thats the only difference to the photo of the box of fuses in the Amazon photo therefore indicating the lack of power straight away.

From my experience a lot of fuses sold on those "selection box's" are of poor quality, the blades that push into the holder are thin, meaning they are not always a nice tight fit.

Loose fuse = high resistance = overheating = not good

I found buying an old OEM fuse box off Ebay a good way to obtain a range of decent spare fuses....... 40+ fuses here in a R50 Mini fuse box for a tenner!

The fuses in the above example aren't standard blade fuses they are mini fuses
See here for different fuse types http://www.littelfuse.com/products/fuses/automotiv...
The yellow fuse on the left is standard

See here to buy glow blow fuses https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201654390213?ViewItem=&...

In terms of fuse size - you only use 40A if the fans are wired together. If on separate circuits, then i believe one 25A fuse on each is the norm.

The rating only affects the startup current- with both starting together, one 25A fuse may not be enough.

As a 95, you should have two fans, but I am not sure when they started wiring the fans separately. My 94 500 had two fans but one supply. I soon got that fixed, as there were plenty of relay/fuse slots in the fuseboard (not needing PAS or AirCon or in fact very much else at all!).

No I didn't read you post correctly, where you mentioned size "I thought Amps" and had visions of someone ordering the incorrect fuses and rushed in with a meaningless post
I apologise for quoting your good post as anything other
