Miami Vice DVDs

Well, they arrived this morning and whilst busy trying pluck up courage to recompile some irritating software 6 times, what d'ya know its playing in the background
one strange thing though: it isnt as dated as you remembered
crockett still looks cool, even in pastel colours, and tubbs is as believable as he ever was.

The black "Daytona" on the cover of the video game looks more like a Corvette to me
I was bought the game for PS2, but I don't own a PS2!! No need now the DVDs are here
As for the seats in the car. Never noticed them change before (PLEASE tell me I'm not missed a bit of MV trivia!). However, they were the easiest give-away that the car was a fake (the headrest was an all-in-one jobbie on the MV car). The interior in general was nothing like the real thing either. Oh, and it had square lamps behind the plexiglass front end, not round as they should be.
Still, as fakes go it wasn't bad. I'd happily have one to live out my MV fantasies

right, here goes. watched the first three episodes.
the fake fezza doesnt appear in Pilot 1, but does appear in Pilot 2. In Pilot 2 the seats have a kinda integral headrest with a M monogram in the leather.
in the 3rd Episode, Heart of Darkness the seats totally change. Black piping appears, the headrest becomes part of the seat itself. and there are gaudy black stripes on the seat backs.
also, I swear the 3rd episode's fake car is an automagic. he clearly puts it into drive and takes off. you dont see his left leg move.

Gaudy black stripes? Mate, that's a classic signature of the Daytona. You'll see some 575s etc advertised with "Daytona" seats....meaning two-colour stripes (black/tan, black/red etc).
The car WAS an automatic. The howling V12 soundtrack was actually added post production

i stand corrected. thank you.
i'd like to make one further observation - the lack of mobile phones. there is alot of racing all over the place to save people and to get a message through!
i also reckon hiding behind a sofa from the person with an automatic weapon aint too bright either.

There was "The Golden Triangle" (2 parter) in which he tracks down a drug lord from Thailand - he use some form of martial art in that one.
Then there was "Bushido" where he takes on the baddies (a Russian!) with a Samurai sword.
thank god I thought I was imagining it
before it got all mystical his role became more violent. think I might invest in these DVD's
The best MV, was a couple of episodes when Crockett lost his memory and joined a drugs gang, working his way up their hierarchy, to the point at one stage he was at/near thetop and pulls a gun on Tubbs. (Think it is was in one of the later series.)
