I am currently on the hunt for an E60 M5. A few that I have seen have been on the market for several weeks. I know that E60 M5's can be hard to shift, so would one that has been for sale for several weeks, especially if the price gets dropped, give you cause for concern?

Often come across cars that have been up 6 months or more. Private too.

I bumped in to a nice bloke part exchanging his Porsche Cayman S at the same independent dealership that I was buying from 8 months ago.

I drive past this dealership occasionally and would always take a look to see if they had sold it..... I just checked their website and its still there for almost the same price as last summer. The car seemed in good condition and the owner was as big a Porsche enthusiast as you could get. Goes to show that niche cars can hang around, I'd expect an M5 to be the same if not worse and it wouldn't necessarily put me off.

Oh god yes, by a country mile. Car seems decent enough though.

Loads ex contract hire in British Car Auctions.

Symptomatic of the market for these atm.

Too expensive new.

Most top spec and understandably well under book £.

E60 M5's are pretty rare and the buyer pool relatively small, what with the tax / fuel / maintenance costs - I'd expect to have to be very patient selling even a well maintained one.

If you use the cargurus website it tells you how long the dealer has been advertising the car and any price changes - all usual information to have to hand.

Also found it displays the number plate, even if the photos have dealer/covered plates

Was quite helpful in my recent purchase
