Hi all,
I'm after some advice. I've recently brought a Skoda Octavia Vrs 220 bhp 2015 model.
I want to increase the sound of the exhaust but when it comes to modifying I'm a complete beginner. I don't want to spend a fortune but I'm happy to spend up to £500. Please help.

Have a look at Miltek exhausts.

Thanks, but I was looking at £500 total including garage costs. Like I said I'm a complete beginner. I can change a wheel and tune the radio buts that's about it.

Hi, I have the 220 TSI MkIII Octavia, great car. I havent had any mods done but browsed a few options. If you are in the UK you’ll have the windows shut for 90% of the year so you won’t hear the exhaust, is it really worth the expense for other people to hear a louder noise?! I’m more impressed with how quiet it is compared to diesels that I’ve run. I’ve settled on “Individual” settings on the mode options with the sound generator on Normal, don’t like the more intrusive Sport sound much. The 230 hp vRS makes a louder/nicer noise, search Youtube for Remus RS/vRS Exhaust videos.
I don’t think £500 is going to buy you much to replace the standard dual-bore exhaust.

Any pictures of your car? Whereabouts are you?

£500 is plenty to get a custom cat back exhaust

Most systems range from £350 to £500 and will achieve the desired results

On a turbo car you want a decent sized bore and not to many restrictions

fit a midbox delete that will free up a bit of noise.

I only caught this through the 'what's new' thing.

It reminded me of another thread where someone's insurance was potentially voided by not having informed their insurance company of a very modest exhaust modification.

If you do it, ensure you talk to them and get it in writing that they acknowledge the modification. smile

jeez that is depressing, so you drive round with your windows up enjoying the sound generator. Ffff that. i dare say you sound like someone who is looking forward to a subtle buzz of an electric car. personally i cant think of anything worse.

Bin the sound generator, ditch the mid box an get a 3inch exhaust and live a little

Please don't do it. There are enough noisy 4cyl euroboxes in the area without adding another one. They all just sound loud and crap.

No, cabin sound generator turned off as far as it'll allow. I'm happy to let the engine do what it needs to without needing to hear the thing.
