Has anyone had any experince with modifying or upgrading the air intakes for the 4.5?

What about enlarging the intake 'mouth' in the front under the bonnet? would this help in any way?

My old Cerb was a factory development model and had a 'mouth' that was more than twice the size of any other i've seen. - see pic...

I never did get to put the car on the rollers to see what power there was, but i'm sure it was quicker than my current 4.5LW

the std filter is good for 400bhp as long as it's cleaned regularly. I modify the filter housing to draw over a larger area, it does nothing for extra bhp, but just keeps that std hp figure for longer before filter clogging starts to take power away.

What difference would it make if the filter housing mouth was removed completely? Would there be any adverse effects?
