on my 3rd 4.5 Cerby wondered if anyone else experiances the gauge that has a mind of it own!
Mine soethimes will gradually increase as the engine warms but on other occasions it does not move for 5 miniutes and finally flicks round to the temperature reading!
Quite normal i think. Guage generally reads okay but occasionally gets bored and flits all over the place for a second or two.
Yep mine does the odd jump every now and again - usually when idling

Mine does that sir, so much so that it often ends up pointing in the oil pressure gauge scale above. I’m told it is something to do with air in the impulse line, as the device is mechanical.
