Vauxhall Corsa D - Rattling sound
Discussion
Hi there, i was wondering if anyone on here had any idea what could the issue with my car. I am planning on taking it to the garage next week but i just to know what i could be potentially dealing with before i get there.
Basically, everytime i start it, there is a rattling sound that seems concetrated towards the drivers side and this sometimes stops after a couple of seconds. Revving the engine doesn’t seem to change the noise of this rattling. Ive attached two links of videos with sound of the rattling if that helps!
Thanks

Probably the timing chain. Very common on them and can cause a rattling sound on start-up.
I should add that I couldn't load the video, so this is just a guess!
Ah right thank you, quite a few people have said that could be the issue. Do you have any idea what i might have to cough up to fix it? Wanna get a rough idea before i take it to the garage I should add that I couldn't load the video, so this is just a guess!
https://streamable.com/mt6ao This is a video of what it looks and sounds like under the bonnet. In first part of the clip you can clearly see and head that box (have no idea what it’s called or what does!) shaking and rattling and them calming when the engine runs. The second part of the clip is the sound when its been running for a while, i’m not sure if that how corsa engines normally sounds or if it still sounds offish. Has anyone got a clue what that circled box thingy is!
