Hi all,

I have been offered a 3.2 Boxster 'S' for 18.5. The car is with a dealer (not porsche)and they have it up for 22K but don't seem to be able to shift it. They have said I can have it at cost which is 18.5 but with out any service / warrenty.

It seems to have most of the options and looks in very good condition for the milage. It is also a 2001 W reg car.

Does the car sound like a good buy?

regards

I would have to say that no warranty would put me off that one!

that seems pricey...

we have a dealer locally offering a 2000 (w) boxster (not S) with 40k for less than £20K with 12 month warranty and FSH..

That's the cheapest I've ever heard of a Boxster S going for. And it should be with over 100K miles on it.

1) Does it have a full Service History.
2) Will they let you get it inspected? If no then bargepole. If yes - you'll know what you're in for.

That's big mileage for such a young car.

There again. The depreciation on it by now could be as little as 2-3K a year...

Hmmmn. It *does* seem pricey. But its an S. They cost a LOT more than the standard car when new...especially with a few options.

cant see it being worth anywhere near £18k

circa £14k would be my guess as to its worth

two cars on autotarder with 63k & 67k being retailed for £19995

It has got a full Porsche service history and they will let me get any inspection.

I was thinking of getting a porsche inspection and then taking the warrenty. The car does have lots of extra's and is a 6 speed manual.

Over priced imho, you should be able to get a reasonable 60-70k miler for about 19-20k. May take time but they are out there.
