As Bluetooth via the 3.5mm aux in is my only means of wireless connectivity for music in my Jag XF, I was contemplating a cheap 2nd hand Android phone as a dedicated device to music and backup Sat-Nav and it occurred to me this could possibly also be used as a dash cam (there must be an app for full time video recording) although I'm not too bothered by it doing anything more than music. There's also Android Auto which comes on new cars but also available as an app. It would be nice to keep my phone in my pocket (the car does have Bluteooth phone capabilities, just not music A2DP) to avoid distraction and have a device I'd be comfortable letting nosey passengers mess around with! I have a spare SIM which shares my data so this would work for Spotify etc.

Has anyone got a similar setup, which device do you use and what else can it be used for?

Cheers

Also got a Bluetooth OBD scanner so would be nice to have a dedicated device for gauges too. Gutted I can't just fit an Android head-unit
