Fiat 695 Bispoto
Discussion
I wonder if anyone can help me in my search for a 695 Bispoto with a dog ring gear box. I can see plenty without, but none with at a genuine price and specification.
Does anyone know how many were produced for the UK market?
Does anyone know if production has ceased, as I can find no clear guidance on that point.
Has anyone driven one and got an opinion on it?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

howmanyleft.co.uk suggests only about 50 695 biposto's were registered in the UK. Considering it was an 8.5k option on an already 33k Fiat 500 I imagine the number actually spec'd with it to be minimal. The one I can see on the market with the dog ring box is probably priced as expected.
I saw one at a track day where the owner had installed an aftermarket sequential box as it was cheaper to do it that way.

Thank you that is helpful and confirms part of my thoughts. Does anyone think they are worth the effort or just an expensive toy that misses the point.
IMHO i think they are great and could be a lot of fun without be barking mad money to run and should stand up in value terms quite well if kept long enough; 8-10 years. What do you all think?
My wife, sadly, doesn't share my enthusiasm, but isn't stopping me in my hunt.

I like the idea of them, but if I had 30-40k to spend on a track toy I would be buying a Caterham/Westfield/Ariel Atom rather than a souped up city car.IMHO i think they are great and could be a lot of fun without be barking mad money to run and should stand up in value terms quite well if kept long enough; 8-10 years. There's a car at Hexagon Classics, London, with just 450 miles. www.hexagonclassics.com
When I checked it was the only one for sale in Europe with that special gearbox. Ask for Jono, (he's the Sales Manager that deals with the classics).

Sorry couldn't resist, good luck with the search!
Well I suppose I deserved that, no matter.
Anyway, just back from driving a 695 with a dog ring box; both on a track and to and from the track. In all honesty very difficult. Ok when driving hard, but off track it can be very crashy and worse still in traffic.
Car is amazing though and as much fun as my other toy, but in a better value for money way if that makes sense.
So I am sold on the car, but does anyone have an opinion on whether or not buying one with all the "packages", aside from the dog ring box, devalues it and makes it just another fast Abarth, or whether or not the rarity and appeal remains.
I repeat great car; if you are offered a chance to drive one, then do.

If you're not getting a dog ring box I'd go for a Megane trophy r with öhlins or a gti clubsport s if you want a fun front wheel drive track toy/investment.
This. Those Biposto's do look great, but silly expensive for what they are, IMO. The Trophy R and the Clubsport S are far more usable for the stuff in between the track use and ares till cracking to drive and prices will only got up i reckon. What about an R26R? Older but still looks like a better bet than the 695.
