Hi all

I have what is, probably, a really stupid question (relating to 987.2 base) -

Where fitted, can you control the CDR30 with the steering wheel buttons?

And anybody ever retrofitted the steering wheel buttons (EG the Sun Coast kit)?

Thanks

Looking at a car tomorrow with a CDR30 and no buttons, trying to get my head around the costs of upgrading things to my ideal spec on a PAYG basis. Already tagged the cruise control retrofit as a quick win next batch of overtime!

CDR30 is a fairly poor head unit and probably not worth spending much money on. Some people will replace it with another unit to get bluetooth, satnav, etc. Plenty of choice if you search on Pistonheads, CaymanOC and Boxa.net
For plug'n'play the Dynavin units seem quite well regarded, I went for a Kenwood.

Found an answer to my first question -

Yes you can control the CDR30 with the steering wheels controls.

Think multi function steering wheel will be the second upgrade after cruise control...followed rapidly by a replacement for the CDR30! The car I am buying has the aux input so I can make do with a Bluetooth adapter until funds permit!

What year is your car? If its a Gen 1 987 I have a multi function steering wheel and airbag that's for sale at the moment.
