I’ve ranted and raved on PH many a time about how banning people with no licence or giving them ghost points is a fking joke.

My solution would be prison time. If you don’t have a licence to take the points then the points are converted to prison time not some bullst ghost licence. Something like 1 month inside for every point.

This fking waste of an oxygen thief has 30 previous convictions for driving without a licence, gets high on coke and kills two innocent toddlers.

9 fking years, I swear to god if it was my family I would be waiting for the day he gets out. He would never walk again. I’m not an angry person normally and don’t condone violence in general but for people like this an exception should be made.

Nine years is nowhere near long enough.

Agree nine years is nowhere near long enough.
There is obviously no hope of rehabilitation for scum like this, despite what all the do gooders will tell us. He should be locked up for the rest of his life.

No, he should be shot.

Sadly, stuff like this no longer surprises me, we live in a country that is a joke now when it comes to law and order.

I work with a member of the two boys family. This guy is rotten to the core. He only got out of prison a couple of months ago, carrying a machete in public. A bullet to the head is the least he should be getting

+1.

There's the dregs of society. And then there's this specimen.

fking scandalous: This guy should be put to death slowly, painfully and publicly as humiliatingly as possible.

The fact he wasn’t already in jail serving a longer sentence for past crimes is appalling.

The maximum penalty for causing death by dangerous driving is 15 years. One wonders, if these circumstances are not worthy of the maximum penalty, what is?

Edit: He pleaded guilty. There is a discount of up to one-third for a early guilty plea.

Perhaps if someone who isn't a layman could chime in if there is scope to appeal the lack of severity of the sentence or for sentencing not to follow the guilty plea discount.

In my world, he would have been permanently and irreversibly sterilised on his third conviction

The latest offence warrants nothing less than lifetime solitary confinement in permanent total darkness, shackled and hooded

Is that despite the sentence following the sentencing council guidelines he is obliged to follow?

Shouldn’t your argument be with the politicians for the maximum sentence and the sentencing council for the guidelines?

I'm a bit out of the legal aspect these days, but if the max penalty is 15 years, how is this piece if scum not the most fitting person ever to receive those 15 years ?

Can't blame the judge for the light sentence. His hands are tied and he is not free to impose the sentence he would likely have liked to give.
Maximum sentence at 15 years less a third for pleading guilty less time served in custody comes out at 9 years. He will get out before doing 5 years and will be free to wreak havoc on our society once again. Whatever happened to the idea of 3 strikes and you are out?

He will be eligible for parole in 5 years or whatever, but will only be released if he meets what ever requirements the parole board set and be out on license until his sentence is complete, that's how I understand it anyway.

It's unlikely he set out that day to kill anyone, even if he is an utter turd of a man, unlike a murder. Which is why he doesn' get the same sentence as a murderer. Personally I'd not like a 9 year prison sentence, even if I only had to do four and a half years and you could sentence him to a million years and the kids won't come back.

The big issue is how you stop people reoffending like this in he first place. It would be better for everyone if he were to be rehabilitated and form a useful role in society, rather than costing us all a lot of money.

Shocking and tragic but why does being disqualified from driving not have a defence against people ignoring it? Surely there should come a point where further banning is replaced by prison? Perhaps it would never have come to this if the loophole had been closed.

For those with no license or convicted of further driving offences should have the ban time converted to prison time. The little c*nts would soon learn thier lesson then.
