Has anybody owned one or currently have one?

Like the compromise between a coupe and cab and the classic styling!

Wife drives an S5 can currently mapped to 420.

Have a 48 hour test drive week after next with a Targa C4S PDK....

Post up pics of yours and your thoughts please

might be worth having a look thru the "991.2 GTS Must Haves Thread" - plenty in there and comments / feedback from owners.

Loved mine . Coolest 991 in my opinion . I'm to introvert to enjoy a full convertible . Feel to much on show . Lots of people talk about the extra weight , but I thought it was fine . ( and I've owned every gen of GT3 , Spyder etc )

I wish I could buy it back as didn't realise just how hard it would be to replace

I’m a big fan of convertibles and love the look of the 991 Targa.

What’s the roof off experience like on a daily basis? I was in a Targa at an event at Milbrook last year. Trundled around at 50-70mph and couldn’t believe how bad buffeting was. I found it genuinely unpleasant compared to a convertible. Really put me off. Was this a one off?

I had a 991.2 Targa GTS that I SOR’d back to my dealer after a month and just a few hundred miles. As mentioned by a previous member the wind buffeting is truly awful! I purchased it to replace a Turbo S Cab.....I ended up buying a Turbo S Cab to replace it with another one to be collected next week!

I honestly have no idea how people manage with the Targa....probably the worst car I’ve purchased in a long time unfortunately.

Do yourself a favour and make sure you get a long extended drive in one before parting with any money. Didn’t make a difference how I had the silly the windscreen wind deflector...the end result was always really bad buffeting in the cabin.

We had an extended test drive in a 991.2 Targa about a year ago..Wonderful looking car however way more buffeting compared to a 991 Cabrio especially fo someone daft enough to sit in the back seats..
Depends on how tolerant you are.i suppose !

I bought a 991.2 Targa 4S as i loved the looks too. I found it too slow and not brilliant handling. I sold it after 10 days (and approx 60 miles). Lost 10k on that.

I now have a 991.2 C4S Coupe with glass roof. Its a million times better - much quicker and sharper, and with glass roof open not that mich different to Targa.

Im surprised to read the above post about the Targa GTS - i figured the GTS version would address the issues I experienced, but seemingly not.

The residuals are decent though - but yes take an extended drive and then try a coupe version.

Thanks for all of the comments, really helpful.

We have it for 48 hours and hopefully the sun will shine so we can really explore it with roof down etc.

It felt likke a conpromise betwen a cab and coupe but perhaps we should divert attention back to the cabs. Sadly budget does not extend to a turbo :-(

Hi all, couple of questions

Do any london dealers do extended test drives?

Any views on which is the better model - the 3.8 NA or the newer 3.0 turbo? Driving will include a lot of central london so the newer engine and lower c02 may keep it the right side of mayor's pollution plans longer

You need to have some good contacts usually to have extended. Will only be on a new demo model not a used vehicle so you will only get a 3.0 turbo.

Hi there,

I have a 991.2 Targa 4. As fast as the previous 991 C4S. I like the engine despite what some say of the turbos.

Buffering? No. Not really. There is a deplorable lip on the windscreen leading edge. Maybe that needs to be up to stop what others have written.

And then there’s the look. It’s one of the best looking non Gt / Turbo S Models IMHO.

GET IT BOUGHT.

Now done about 20k Miles in 2 x 991.2 Targa 4 GTSs.

In my opinion they make a great daily driver, enough power and torque to be fun. Zero Lag in the 3.0 Turbo, The Sports Ex is nice. I came from over 100k Miles since Aug 13 in 4 X 991 Turbo s into the Targa. Not once do I miss the performance in the Targa for road driving. Great cars, mine will be staying as a DD until the 992 Version is out.

This looks very nice - and much richer than I'd have expected for a pastel colour. Enjoy thumbup

Just wondering, did you buy that from Mayfair OPC? As they did have a pastel orange GTS Targa for sale.

And yours definitely isn’t the only pastel orange 991.2 GTS Targa, there is at least one more wink

Yes that was my car, supplied new to my spec Last Oct. I think you will find the other 991.2 targa in Pastel is 100% not a GTS, its a 4s.
