I hear that even if you put muffler bypass pipes on the 993tt they won't "feel" any different, because the cats are the major restriction.

I know you can get 100 cell cats, and cat bypass pipes.

Who has either of these, and what are your experiences? I fancy easing the restriction a bit so the turbos spool up a bit earlier. I hear this reduces temperatures too...

maybe i should get the cat bypass and the muffler bypass, then my neighbours would really love me

Prob best to post in the 993TT forum on Rennlist, as lots of the A-merican chaps on there have various exhaust combinations.

Look at the fabspeed site www.fabspeed.com I have some muffler bypass pipes on my GT2, superb quality and lovely sound, plus with the dollar rate very cheap.

Just watched that video - not bad! Have always felt that the noise of my 993tt was a bit too anodyne, but didn't want too much exhaust drone when cruising on the motorway. This might just be the solution...thanks chaps.

Found out that FVD also do muffler bypass pipes, and they are right here in Europe, plus they have two distributors in the UK, the one down south is G-Force.
FVD list the pipes at 295 euro + tax and shipping.

Have ordered the FVD pipes.
Considering they're basically a 90 degree bend in a piece of 2.5" pipe, with a small flare at one end and quite a large flare at the other end, i refuse to pay more than i have to!
FVD works out at £240 delivered and taxed, whereas Fabspeed ones work out at over £300 even if customs don't "catch" it...

Will let you know how they sound once i've put them on.

VS,

How did you get on with the bypass pipes? are they too loud or just right?
I'm thinking of going down the same route.
