235/35R19 change to 235/40 or 245/35
Discussion
On a 2011 Passat CC if it matters. Stock active suspension.
Wifes car, she has kerbed a couple of rims which i will be getting sorted soon. Rears tyres are due to be changed and now for the 2nd time i have a good front with a egg in the sidewall so thinking of changing all to either taller or wider.
I understand they are low profile therefore likely to be damaged easily on or s
t roads but whats the consensus on changing to 235/40R19 for a taller profile to minimise kerb damage and slightly improve ride or 245/35R19 to give more width maybe protecting rims better? This is also slightly taller than stock.
I know both will fit and won't rub. The 245 option is closest rolling radius of the two to standard. Speedo change is close enough for me not to worry.
Its local railway crossing that i think is damaging the side walls.
